The only thing I can congratulate
myself with, is that I am not in
the habit of acting like a babbit
“A self-satisfied narrow-minded
person who conforms to conventional
ideals of business and material
success” – if hubby were not in
charge of financial affairs, I would
have been bankrupt ages ago and
living like a pauper – and if he
were more of a babbit, we would
have been well-off, but now we
prefer holidays at the sea-shore
and eating in restaurants more
than watching a growing bank
account – so he’s no babbit
either!
